The Speaker:

The 1959 Gold Medallist of the World Youth Peace and Friendship Festival, and the second prize winner of the 1962 Tchaikovsky Piano Competition, Mr. Yin
appeared on stage since he was nine years old. During his long musical career, Mr. Yin has touched millions of souls with his "absolutely beautiful command of piano colors" (Bernard Holland, for the New York Times). He has been a legend in the music world, and one of the four Chinese musicians listed in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians published in 1980.

Mr. Yin performed worldwide and collaborated with world's best symphony orchestras and conductors. Mr. Yin is not only a virtuoso interpreter of Western music, he has also composed some of the best-known piano pieces on his own based on traditional Beijing opera and other classic Chinese music. He is one of the major contributor to the "Yellow River Concerto" that made him a household name in China. Mr. Yin has released more than 20 records including the All Chopin CD, Debussy's 24 Preludes, and Rachmaninov's Concertos No.2 and 3 in cooperation with the St. Peterburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
