The Artists:
Kyung-Jun Kim, violin
Age 15, Kyung-Jun Kim is a student at the Juilliard Pre-College Division. He was the first
prize winner of both the 2000 Canada Edmonton Kiwanis music festival competition, the 2001
Korean National Youth Music Competition, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto
Competition. Currently, Kyung Jun studies with Hyo Kang and Ho-Young Pi. He is going to
participate in the 4th International Junior Tchaikovsky Competition to be held in China,
October 2002.
Timothy Bozarth, piano.
Timothy Bozarth has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist on four continents.
Mr. Bozarth has been a prizewinner in numerous international piano competitions including:
the Beethoven Fellowship of the American Pianists Association; the Robert Casadesus
International Piano Competition; the San Antonio International Keyboard Competition; and
the Maria Canals
International Competition. Timothy Bozarth has earned the Artist Diploma from the
Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Paul Schenly and presently is a Doctor
of Musical Arts candidate at the New England Conservatory of Music.
Timothy Bozarth has participated in numerous summer music festivals, including: the Music
Academy of the West; Pianofest in the Hamptons; and the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo,
Japan where he was an invited Artist, performing with the principal players of the Vienna
Philharmonic and performing works by Toru Takemitsu and Tan Dun under their direct
tutelage.
For the past six years, Mr. Bozarth has been a resident of Boston, performing close to a
thousand performances in that time, many with leading area musicians, including Masuko
Ushioda, Paula Robison, Laurence Lesser, Colin Carr, Doriot Dwyer, James Dunham, Andrew
Kohji Taylor and Ayano Ninomiya. Recently, Timothy Bozarth has performed in major concert
halls in the cities of New York, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Taipei,
Kaohsiung, Seoul, Sapporo, Tokyo, Munich and Frankfurt.
