Adria Ye,
pianist
https://www.adriaye.com/
Chinese-American pianist Adria Ye has been driven from
a young age by a hopeless fascination with music. Described by
cellist David Finckel as having a “naturally beautiful sound and
lyric instinct,” and by the Boston Musical Intelligencer as
possessing “micro control of articulation, dynamics color, and
rubato, all to convincing musical effect,” Adria has performed as
soloist with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,
the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Smith Square, the
Beaufort Symphony Orchestra, and the Aspen Concert Orchestra. Most
recently, they were a prizewinner at the 2026 Hastings International
Piano Competition, and the 2026 New Orleans International Piano
Competition. They were the recipient of the Paul Streit Special
Prize at the 2022 Concours de Genéve.
An avid chamber musician, Adria has also participated
in and performed at festivals including the Ravinia Steans Music
Institute, Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival’s Spring
Workshop, the Innsbrook Institute, and the David Finckel-Wu Han
Chamber Music Studio at the Aspen Music Festival and School.
They frequently collaborate with and perform with cellist Leland
Ko.
Adria earned their Bachelor and Master of Music
degrees at the Juilliard School with Yoheved Kaplinsky and
Julian Martin, and a Graduate Diploma at the New England
Conservatory with Wha-Kyung Byun.
Clara Neubauer,
violin
https://www.clara-neubauer.com/
"Her countenance and artistry possess a rare grace
that identify her as someone who might take delight in fairies
dancing between drops of dew on brightly petaled flowers or the
delicate filigree on the finest porcelain." -CLASSICAL VOICE
NORTH AMERICA
"lovely, heart-tugging sound distinguished by
sylvan highs." - CLASSICAL VOICE NORTH AMERICA
Praised for her "seductive artistry" and "rare grace"
(Classical Voice North America), violinist Clara Neubauer is
establishing herself as a deeply expressive and authentic
artist. She is winner of the Peter Mennin Prize for Outstanding
Achievement and Leadership in Music from The Juilliard School
and the Ana Chumachenco Award from the Kronberg Academy. Clara
received her Bachelor’s and Master’s from The Juilliard School
as a student of Li Lin, Catherine Cho, and Itzhak Perlman, and
was a recipient of the Kovner Fellowship. Beginning this fall,
she will attend the Kronberg Academy as a student of Mihaela
Martin in the Professional Studies Program.
Clara has appeared at festivals internationally
including the Marlboro Music Festival, Ravinia Festival,
Kronberg Chamber Music Connects the World, Taos, Four Seasons,
Music From Angel Fire, Perlman Music Program, Music@Menlo,
Prussia Cove Masterclasses and Open Chamber Music, and Olympic
Music Festival. She has performed on tour with Musicians from
Marlboro and Taos on Tour and collaborated with artists
including Mitsuko Uchida, Steven Isserlis, Itzhak Perlman, Peter
Wiley, Donald Weilerstein, Ani Kavafian, and Gary Hoffman. Clara
joins the Bowers Program at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln
Center for the 2027-2030 seasons.
Next season, Clara will appear with the Philadelphia
Chamber Music Society, the Phoenix Chamber Music Society, the
Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Brooklyn Chamber
Music Society, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, and at The
Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., and Jordan Hall in
Boston. She will also return to Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music
and make her German recital debut at the Kronberg Academy.
Winner of the National YoungArts competition, Clara
has appeared as soloist with the Symphony of Westchester, the
National Repertory Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra
Heilbronn (play-conducting), the New York Concerti Sinfonietta,
the Little Orchestra Society, Ensemble 212, and the Juilliard
Pre-College Orchestra. She has additionally won top prizes at
the Adelphi Competition, the Symphony of Westchester Young
Artist Competition, Ensemble 212 Young Artist Competition, and
the Young Musicians Competition at the Chamber Music Society of
Lincoln Center.
Clara was a Musical Ambassador for the Doublestop
Foundation as winner of their Artist in You Competition and was
featured on WQXR as part of their Young Musicians Showcase with
her brother, Oliver. She was a Young Performer at the
Music@Menlo Chamber Music Institute for five years and was
chosen as one of five young artists featured at the chamber
music fellowship program of the Olympic Music Festival. She
served as concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra, including a
recent performance with Maestro Gustavo Dudamel at David Geffen
Hall, and performs as part of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra,
New York Philharmonic, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
Growing up in a family of professional musicians,
Clara’s love for music began from a very early age. Her first
experience with chamber music was playing duos with her older
brother at the ages of 5 and 7, something which they have
joyfully continued for the following 20 years (and hopefully
many more to come!). She is part of the Neubauer/McDermott
Family Quartet, composed of herself, her brother Oliver, and her
parents, Kerry McDermott and Paul Neubauer.
Clara is also a founding member of the Tobias Quartet
along with Oliver Neubauer, Samuel Rosenthal, and Sterling
Elliott. The Tobias Quartet was the ensemble in residence at
Music From Angel Fire for two summers, where they traveled
around northern New Mexico presenting educational programs to
K-12 students and sharing musical topics in a fun and accessible
way.
Born on 9/11/2001, Clara can be heard as the voice of
the audio guide at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum
along with Robert deNiro, available as a free app for download
at the App Store. Her writing has been published in "Faces of
Hope: Babies Born on 9/11", and she has been the feature of
interviews on TV Globo and CBS Sports, speaking and playing
violin. She recently performed at the National September 11
Memorial & Museum in remembrance of the victims and legacy of
9/11 on its 25th anniversary.
Leland Ko,
cellist
https://www.lelandko.com/about
Cellist
Leland Philip Ko (b. 1998) is the kind of person who is always
asking “why” — American-born but of Chinese-Canadian descent,
schooled at both university and conservatory, and extremely
thorough in any number of activities ranging from competitive
tennis and distance-running to home-baking and origami, he wants
to find the similarities between seemingly disparate things, and
in doing so hopefully find something human in everything. Above
all, Leland does his best to remember advice once given to him
that music is about life, not the other way around.
Nicknamed “the storyteller” and “a daring prince” by the media
during his time at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and
described as “one of those artists who defy analysis, because
words simply cannot describe the powerful emotions they evoke” (RTBF),
Leland is a first prize winner of the Walter W. Naumburg
International Cello Competition, an Avery Fisher Career Grant
recipient, and a third prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth
Competition.
Highlights for Leland’s 2026-2027 season include concerto
appearances at home with the Kendall Square Orchestra and the
Apollo Ensemble of Boston, a recital at the Caramoor Center for
Music and the Arts, and chamber music at Shriver Hall in
Baltimore, Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, Newport
Classical Festival, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in
Boston, and Wigmore Hall in London. Past engagements have
included a sold out debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall,
performances at Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center,
Boston’s Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall, and concerto appearances
with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Brussels
Philharmonic, the Orchestre Symphonique de Sherbrooke, the
DuPage Symphony, the Roswell Symphony Orchestra, and the Hudson
Valley Philharmonic.
Despite growing up a part of Boston’s strong youth orchestra
culture, Leland feels that chamber music is central to his
being, having had formative years at Yellowbarn, Ravinia's
Steans Music Institute, Four Seasons Chamber Music Workshop, and
the Perlman Music Program’s Summer Music School and its Chamber
Music Workshop. Leland’s love for chamber music has also led
him to be a former Artist in Residence of New York Piano Society
(NYPS), and former Music Director of Opus 21, a student-run
chamber music collective at Princeton. He is the cellist of
Trio Rai, the OAK Trio, the Phaidros Quartet, and also a
frequent member of the International Sejong Soloists.
Leland
was a long-time student of Kirsten Peltz, Ronald Lowry, and Paul
Katz before attending Princeton University, where he graduated
with an A.B. in German Literature. He went on to complete an
M.M. at The Juilliard School under the teaching of Minhye Clara
Kim, Timothy Eddy, and Natasha Brofsky, and then earned an
Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory under guidance
of Laurence Lesser, Yeesun Kim, and Donald Weilerstein. Leland
performs on a cello by Pietro Guarneri of Venice, c. 1728-30,
and a bow by Dominique Peccatte, both of which are on generous
loan to him from Canimex Inc. He resides in Boston, with his
14-year-old cat, Ham. |
